The U.S. HVAC industry is in crisis
2018-06-06
According to the article written in the Contracting Business website, 115,000 new HVAC professionals are needed to meet the industry demand in the next four years. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates the current technician shortage in the U.S. HVAC industry at 70,000. In other words, the current workforce has to be lifted by 50% from the current 230,000 within the next four years, while the BLS is projecting a shrinkage of 12,000 annually.
The industry needs to come up with brilliant plans to attract more bright kids to the industry. The industry must provide good training platforms and educate young people about how they can reach higher income more quickly than many of their undergraduate counterparts.
